SportsMistakes is a growing record of the mistakes, decisions, blunders and controversial moments that changed sports.

Some are obvious: a dropped ball, a missed shot or a player who forgot the score. Others are still debated decades later: a coaching decision, a questionable call, a trade, a draft pick or a decision made under enormous pressure.

That debate is part of the point.

SportsMistakes brings these moments together so fans can discover them, judge them and learn from them. Was it really a mistake? Why did it happen? What can players, coaches, executives—and the rest of us—learn from it?

The record is built from researched sports history and nominations from fans. Community voting adds another layer: not simply what happened, but how sports fans judge it today.

Because sometimes the most interesting part of sports history is what went wrong.
