In July 2020, Kenyan marathoner Wilson Kipsang received a four-year ban for anti-doping violations, including four missed tests between April 2018 and May 2019. He was also found to have provided false evidence to justify one of the missed tests. This suspension, effective from January 10, 2020, led to the disqualification of his results from April 12, 2019, to January 10, 2020.
