THE STORY

On January 19, 2018, during the Volvo Ocean Race's fourth leg, Vestas 11th Hour Racing collided with a fishing vessel approximately 30 miles from Hong Kong's finish line. The collision resulted in the death of a crew member from the fishing vessel, while all Vestas crew members were unharmed. The incident led to Vestas 11th Hour Racing retiring from the fourth leg and missing the subsequent two legs of the race.
