THE STORY
In the 1985 American League Championship Series, Game 7, held on October 16 at Royals Stadium in Kansas City, Blue Jays manager Bobby Cox kept ace pitcher Dave Stieb on the mound in the seventh inning despite trailing 3–1. Stieb allowed three runs in that inning, leading to a 6–2 loss and the Blue Jays' elimination from the postseason.
