On May 10, 1979, during Game 7 of the NHL's Stanley Cup Semifinals at the Montreal Forum, the Boston Bruins were penalized for having too many men on the ice with 2:34 remaining in regulation. This bench minor allowed the Montreal Canadiens' Guy Lafleur to score a game-tying goal on the ensuing power play, leading to overtime.
