THE STORY
In 2007, NBA referee Tim Donaghy was investigated for betting on games he officiated during the 2005–06 and 2006–07 seasons. He pleaded guilty to wire fraud and transmitting betting information, admitting to providing inside information to gamblers. Donaghy was sentenced to 15 months in prison and three years of supervised release.
