THE STORY
On November 29, 2014, during the second leg of the Volvo Ocean Race, Team Vestas Wind's yacht grounded on the Cargados Carajos Shoals, approximately 240 nautical miles northeast of Mauritius. The crew of nine abandoned ship after both rudders were damaged, and the vessel was subsequently stranded. No injuries were reported among the crew members.
