THE STORY

During the 2017 Azerbaijan Grand Prix in Baku, Sebastian Vettel ran into the rear of Lewis Hamilton's Mercedes while the field was behind the safety car, then pulled alongside Hamilton and made further contact. Vettel accused Hamilton of brake-testing him. The race stewards gave Vettel a 10-second stop-go penalty for dangerous driving. Formula 1 officials later stated that Hamilton had not brake-tested Vettel, and the FIA subsequently reviewed the incident before closing the matter after Vettel apologized.
