In August 2010, during the fourth Test between Pakistan and England at Lord's, Pakistan captain Salman Butt conspired with bowlers Mohammad Asif and Mohammad Amir to bowl deliberate no-balls for betting purposes. The scheme was exposed by a sting operation, leading to suspensions and subsequent bans for all three players.
