THE STORY
In April 1999, the New Orleans Saints traded all their 1999 draft picks and their 2000 first- and third-round picks to the Washington Redskins to move up from the 12th to the 5th overall pick in the NFL Draft. They selected running back Ricky Williams from Texas. Williams' performance did not meet expectations, leading to a 3–13 season and the firing of head coach Mike Ditka and general manager Bill Kuharich.
