THE STORY
In Game 7 of the 2014 World Series on October 29, at Kauffman Stadium in Kansas City, Royals left fielder Alex Gordon hit a two-out single in the bottom of the ninth inning, advancing to third base after two fielding errors by the Giants. The next batter, Salvador Pérez, popped out, ending the game and the Royals' season.
