THE STORY

On August 30, 1990, the Boston Red Sox traded minor league third baseman Jeff Bagwell to the Houston Astros in exchange for veteran relief pitcher Larry Andersen. Bagwell went on to become a Hall of Fame first baseman, while Andersen contributed little to the Red Sox. This trade is often cited as one of the most lopsided in baseball history.
