In Super Bowl XLIX on February 1, 2015, at University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll called a timeout with 26 seconds remaining and the ball on the New England Patriots' 1-yard line. On the ensuing play, quarterback Russell Wilson's pass intended for Ricardo Lockette was intercepted by Patriots' rookie cornerback Malcolm Butler, sealing a 28-24 victory for New England.
