THE STORY
On March 20, 1996, the Pittsburgh Penguins traded forward Markus Näslund to the Vancouver Canucks in exchange for right wing Alek Stojanov. At the time, Näslund had recorded 52 points in 66 games during the 1995–96 NHL season. Following the trade, Näslund became a key player for the Canucks, leading them in goals and points for seven consecutive seasons.
