THE STORY

On January 4, 2007, during a game between the Dallas Stars and the Edmonton Oilers, with the Stars leading 5-4 and 12 seconds remaining, forward Patrik Stefan missed an empty net opportunity. The puck bounced over his stick, and as he attempted to recover, he inadvertently passed it to Oilers' center Jarret Stoll. This led to a play where Ales Hemsky scored with two seconds left, tying the game. The Stars eventually won in a shootout.
