In Game 2 of the 1993 Stanley Cup Final, the Montreal Canadiens, trailing 2–1, challenged Marty McSorley's stick for an illegal curve. McSorley received a minor penalty, leading to a 6-on-4 power play where Eric Desjardins scored the tying goal. Desjardins then scored the overtime winner, giving the Canadiens a 3–2 victory and tying the series at 1–1.
