In April 2015, UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones was arrested in Albuquerque, New Mexico, for a hit-and-run accident that left a pregnant woman with a broken arm. The UFC stripped him of his title and suspended him indefinitely, leading to Daniel Cormier facing Anthony Johnson for the vacant championship at UFC 187. Jones later pleaded guilty to leaving the scene of an accident and was sentenced to probation.
