THE STORY
In February 2008, the French trimaran Groupama 3, skippered by Franck Cammas, capsized approximately 80 miles east of Dunedin, New Zealand, during a Jules Verne Trophy attempt. The incident occurred after the leeward float broke in two, leading to the breakage of the two beams and the subsequent capsize. All ten crew members were safely airlifted to Dunedin without injury.
