During the 2010 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix on November 14, Ferrari's Fernando Alonso was leading the World Drivers' Championship. In an attempt to cover Mark Webber's early pit stop, Ferrari called Alonso in on lap 15. This decision placed him behind Vitaly Petrov and Nico Rosberg, whom he couldn't overtake, resulting in a seventh-place finish and a four-point deficit to Sebastian Vettel in the championship.
