THE STORY
In August 2003, British sprinter Dwain Chambers tested positive for tetrahydrogestrinone (THG), a previously undetectable anabolic steroid, during an out-of-competition test in Saarbrücken, Germany. The International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) suspended him, and he was later banned for two years and stripped of his medals from mid-2002 onward. This incident was among the first major cases in the BALCO doping scandal, leading to significant controversy in British athletics.
