THE STORY

On June 15, 1964, the Chicago Cubs traded outfielder Lou Brock, along with pitchers Jack Spring and Paul Toth, to the St. Louis Cardinals in exchange for pitcher Ernie Broglio, outfielder Doug Clemens, and pitcher Bobby Shantz. Brock went on to become a Hall of Famer with the Cardinals, while Broglio's performance declined significantly after the trade.
