THE STORY
At the 2008 Singapore Grand Prix, Renault driver Nelson Piquet Jr. deliberately crashed on lap 14, triggering a safety car period. This strategy allowed teammate Fernando Alonso, who had pitted earlier, to gain track position and win the race. The FIA later found Renault guilty of conspiring to orchestrate the crash.
