In the 2004 French Open men's singles final, unseeded Argentine Gastón Gaudio defeated third-seeded compatriot Guillermo Coria 0–6, 3–6, 6–4, 6–1, 8–6. Coria, leading by two sets and serving for the match at 6–5 in the fifth set, had two championship points but was unable to convert.
