THE STORY
On October 1, 2002, the Colorado Avalanche traded forwards Chris Drury and Stéphane Yelle to the Calgary Flames for defenseman Derek Morris and forwards Dean McAmmond and Jeff Shantz. Drury had been a key player for Colorado, contributing 16 points during their 2001 Stanley Cup run. In Calgary, he scored 53 points in his first season, ranking third on the team.
