THE STORY
On September 5, 2015, during the Clipper Round the World Race's first leg from London to Rio de Janeiro, 49-year-old Andrew Ashman, a paramedic from Orpington, Kent, was knocked unconscious by the mainsheet while reefing the mainsail aboard the yacht IchorCoal, approximately 120 nautical miles off the Portuguese coast.
