THE STORY
In 2015, former New Zealand cricketer Chris Cairns faced a nine-week trial at London's Southwark Crown Court, charged with perjury and perverting the course of justice. The charges stemmed from his 2012 libel victory over Lalit Modi, where Cairns had denied match-fixing allegations.
