In the 2006 NBA Draft, the Chicago Bulls selected LaMarcus Aldridge with the second overall pick. Immediately after the draft, they traded Aldridge's rights to the Portland Trail Blazers in exchange for the rights to Tyrus Thomas, whom the Blazers had selected fourth overall, and Viktor Khryapa.
