THE STORY

In July 2015, the Supreme Court-appointed RM Lodha committee suspended the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) franchise from the Indian Premier League (IPL) for two years. This decision was based on the involvement of team official Gurunath Meiyappan in illegal betting activities during the 2013 IPL season. As a result, CSK was barred from participating in the 2016 and 2017 IPL seasons.
