THE STORY
On December 2, 1995, Canadiens goaltender Patrick Roy allowed nine goals before being pulled in a game against the Detroit Red Wings. After the game, Roy told team president Ronald Corey he would no longer play for Montreal. Four days later, on December 6, the Canadiens traded Roy and captain Mike Keane to the Colorado Avalanche for goaltender Jocelyn Thibault, right wing Andrei Kovalenko, and left wing Martin Rucinsky.
