THE STORY
On June 19, 2003, Chicago Bulls point guard Jay Williams crashed his Yamaha YZF-R6 motorcycle into a streetlight in Chicago without a helmet or license. He sustained a fractured pelvis, torn knee ligaments, and nerve damage in his left leg. The injuries caused Williams to miss the entire 2003–04 NBA season. He was waived by the Bulls in February 2004, who honored his contract with a $3 million buyout for rehabilitation.
