THE STORY

In the 2014 NFC Championship Game, the Packers led the Seahawks 19-14 with 2:09 left. During an onside kick, the ball bounced off Packers tight end Brandon Bostick's helmet, allowing Seahawks receiver Chris Matthews to recover it. This led to a 24-yard touchdown run by Marshawn Lynch and a two-point conversion, putting Seattle ahead 22-19. The Packers tied the game, but the Seahawks won 28-22 in overtime.

WHY IT MATTERS

Bostick's failure to execute his blocking assignment on the onside kick recovery allowed the Seahawks to regain possession, contributing to the Packers' loss and preventing their Super Bowl appearance.
