In June 2017, former tennis champion Boris Becker was declared bankrupt in the UK. In April 2022, he was found guilty of four charges under the Insolvency Act for concealing assets, including two Wimbledon trophies, to avoid repaying debts. He was sentenced to 2.5 years in prison and released in December 2022 after serving eight months. Becker was deported to Germany upon release.
