THE STORY
On June 16, 1983, Luis Resto fought Billy Collins Jr. at Madison Square Garden. Resto's trainer removed padding from his gloves and soaked his hand wraps in plaster, causing severe injury to Collins. The fight was declared a no contest. Resto and his trainer faced legal consequences. Collins suffered permanent eye damage that ended his career and died less than a year later in a car accident.
