THE STORY
During the London 2012 Olympics, eight female badminton players from China, South Korea, and Indonesia were disqualified for intentionally losing matches to manipulate the tournament draw. The Badminton World Federation charged them with "not using one's best efforts to win a match" and "conducting oneself in a manner that is clearly abusive or detrimental to the sport."
